In order to Restore your Device you will need:
1. High Speed Internet
2. Desktop or Laptop with iTunes™ installed
3. MFi Certified Charging Cable
Why is High-Speed Internet Necessary?
Without high speed internet present this restore can take up to 4 hours or so. There is also a possibility that the restore will fail multiple times in between if the Wi-Fi signal is weak. With proper high speed internet a restore should take less than 1 hour.
Why is a Desktop or Laptop Necessary?
Having access to a Desktop or Laptop is very important as it’s the only way consumers can restore their own iPhone™ or iPad™ using iTunes™ for free.
Why is having an MFi Certified Cable Necessary?
What is MFi Certified and Does it Even Matter?
MFi stands for “Made for iPhone/iPod/iPad” and is a certified licensing program by Apple. One main aspect between MFi and non-MFi cables and that is when connecting your device to iTunes™, we experience about 75% of non-MFi cables not being able to update or modify your Apple device through iTunes and sometimes, the non-MFi cable is not recognized by the device or iTunes making room for restore errors.
